Echo, a pigeon, searches the city and different environments within it for validation and affection, offering a prized tree branch that symbolizes his identity and personal values. After failing to attract any attention, he learns to transform to fit in with each group, stepping on his branch in the process. After the rush of validation fades, he notices his branch is broken and tries to fix it with pieces from different environments. Although he is content to have mended his relationship with his identity, it is forever altered by the various environments he has been part of and his obsession with external validation.
