VIII Arctic International Film Festival "Golden Raven" has opened the call for entries.
The VIII Arctic International Film Festival "Golden Raven" has opened the call for applications for participation in the competition programs. Applications are considered from September 26, 2023 to February 29, 2024.

"Golden Raven" is one of the largest international cultural events in the Far North and Arctic of Russia. In 2024, at least 200 events are planned in 22 regions, involving an audience of many thousands of participants and spectators, as well as an online audience of millions.

The festival will be held from April 15 to 28, 2024 in the city of Anadyr (Chukotka Autonomous Okrug).

"Traditionally, the festival will feature competition and out-of-competition film screenings, a vast educational and business program. For the first time, the film festival will be part of an entire ecosystem, the Golden Raven creative space, which will unite cinema, music, gastronomic, sports and cultural events. An ice screen and an igloo made of snow and ice will be constructed right on the Anadyr estuary" - Philippe Abryutin, Artistic Director of the film festival, shares his plans.

Applications are accepted in the following categories:

1. International Competition of feature-length fiction and non-fiction films - feature and documentary films of 52 minutes or more in length, created not earlier than January 01, 2022, are accepted for consideration.

2. International Short Fiction Film Competition - feature films with a duration of less than 52 minutes created not earlier than January 01, 2022.

3. International Short Non-Fiction Film Competition - documentary films of less than 52 minutes' duration, produced not earlier than January 01, 2022 are eligible for consideration.

4. International Animated Short Film Competition - films created not earlier than January 01, 2022, devoted to the Arctic or northern themes and reflecting the life of the population of the northern regions of the world, including indigenous peoples, nature and wildlife, with a running time of less than 52 minutes are accepted for consideration;

5. Regional competition "Kinovzlet" - short fiction and non-fiction films with a running time of less than 52 minutes, created not earlier than January 01, 2022 in the territory of Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, which have not previously participated in this program of the Festival, are accepted for consideration.

Foreign participants can apply through the online platforms Filmfreeway and Festhome. More detailed information about the rules and procedure of application submission is available on the Festival website in the "Regulations" section.

The Grand Prix of the Festival (nomination "best film") is awarded according to the results of the audience voting organized within the screenings of the International Competition of feature-length fiction and non-fiction films. The other awards are given by the decision of the expert jury (except for the Special Prize of the Festival Organizing Committee).

Applications for participation in the Festival are accepted from September 26, 2023 to February 29, 2024.

The Golden Raven Film Festival is held by the Center for Development and Support of Cultural Projects "Golden Raven", the Producing Center "Youth Initiatives", with the support of the Governor of Chukotka AO, the Government of Chukotka AO, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Chukotka AO, AU ChAOOkrkinovidoprokat.

The events of the film festival are realized within the National Project "Culture".
