Learning, Knowing & Sharing: The Journey of Kikya

Canoe racing was one of the few traditions that was not interfered with during Canadian colonialism, and therefore holds a very special place amongst First Nations people as it was a conduit for passing down culture and tradition. 7th generation Squamish Nation canoe carver Mike Billy Sr. takes a journey by carving a dugout canoe with his son and nephew to share his skills and pass them on for future generations.
