Sorcerers, mermaids, leshachihas and vodyanoys (magic creatures who live in swamp) once inhabited the Russian North. And today, somewhere on the fields overgrown with forests, along with abandoned huts, the long-forgotten spirits of popular beliefs live their last days. The native inhabitant of the northern village «Lekshmozero» Vasily Popov sets off on a journey to the place where his ancestral home once stood. Almost the whole family of Vasily died in the war, which devastated the northern villages. Vasily's journey is an attempt to find the spirit of the «old world» on the overgrown shores. But if the shores of the lakes are silent and seemingly dead, then it is worth going over the edge of reality, and the «old world» captures its enchanted wanderer.
