Submissions are open for competitors at the 2019
Golden Raven International Film Festival

The Golden Raven International Arctic Film Festival is being held for the third time in the administrative center of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, Anadyr, from May 20 to May 26, 2019. Its program will include several categories:
-The feature-length, live-action category for films created on or after January 1, 2017;
-The feature-length documentary category for films created on or after January 1, 2017;
-The joint category for short documentaries and live-action films, for films created on or after January 1, 2018;
-The "Kinovzlyot!" category for short documentaries and live-action films making their débuts, created on or after January 1, 2018 on the territory of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug.

Live-action and documentary films created in the period from 2016 to 2018 in the countries of the polar region (Russia, Canada, Norway, Sweden, the USA (Alaska), Greenland and Finland) and dedicated to characters whose lives are closely connected to the North, the traditional way of life of its indigenous inhabitants, and the nature of these areas are invited to participate in the Festival's feature-length film category. Live-action films on various topics, created in the period from 2017 to 2018, and having a prominent viewership and genre component , are invited to participate in the short film category.
Submission forms for the Festival must be filled out on the Festival's website www.goldenravenfilmfest.ru before March 20, 2019.
The final decision of the Selection Committee of the Festival will be published on the Festival's website, www.goldenravenfilmfest.ru, no later than April 2, 2019.

The following awards will be presented based on the results of the competition:
«The Big Golden Raven» - the grand prize of the Festival for the best film in the feature-length live-action and documentary categories, on the basis of the viewers' preferential voting.
«The Golden Raven» - the Festival's award for the best film in the feature-length, live-action film category, on the basis of the decision of a jury of experts;
«The Golden Raven» - the Festival's award for the best film in the feature-length documentary category, on the basis of the decision of a jury of experts;
A special certificate from the jury of the Festival for the best film in the joint category for short live-action films and documentaries;
A special certificate from the jury of the Festival for the best film in the "Kinovzlyot!" category, based on the decision of a jury of experts.

The main awards of the Golden Raven Festival are unique and cannot be replicated. They are created by a bone carving master using walrus tusk, and are in the form of a flying demiurge raven.

The Golden Raven Festival is one of the largest film festivals to take place in the Russian Far North. It is distinguished by the fact that viewers determine the winners of the competitive programs. Besides the viewers, films are also evaluated by the festival jury, which includes professional filmmakers. Following the results of thecompetition, they will present special jury awards.

The festival is organized by the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation; the Youth Initiatives Production Center; the Department of Education, Culture, and Sport of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug; and Okrkinovideoprokat, the autonomous institution for film distribution and cinema entertainment in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug.

The Festival is funded by the Government Program "Development of Education, Culture, Sport, Tourism and Youth Policies in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug in 2016-2020".
