A young girl, cleaning under the Christmas tree, finds a Nutcracker toy for nuts. The Nutcracker comes to life and tells her a sad story about his curse and the treacherous queen of the mouse kingdom. Suddenly a strange sound is heard from somewhere in the corner of the room. Cracks run along the wall, and the mouse king appears from the gap. He has become big and scary, but the Nutcracker himself has matured and is preparing to fight the horror from the past.
