CREATE YOUR OWN CARTOON WITH A LEGENDARY STUDIO: "GOLDEN RAVEN" AND "SOYUZMULTFILM" OPEN APPLICATIONS FOR AN ANIMATION FILM LAB IN CHUKOTKA!

February 19, 2026

As part of the jubilee 10th Golden Raven Arctic International Film Festival, applications are now open for a children’s and youth animation film lab. The project is traditionally carried out together with the leaders and mentors of the Soyuzmultclub children’s center at the legendary Soyuzmultfilm studio.

The film lab will take place in Anadyr during the spring break period, from March 28 to April 5, 2026, at School No. 1 (25 Otke Street, Anadyr). This is a unique opportunity for schoolchildren in Chukotka to step into the amazing world of animation and learn how true masterpieces are made.

What awaits the participants? Under the guidance of professional animators from Moscow, the children will go through the entire process of creating an animated film: from developing the idea, writing the script, and drawing unique characters to frame-by-frame shooting, editing, adding music, and voice recording.

Participants will get acquainted with classic animation techniques, such as cut-out animation and clay animation, and will be able to tell the world their own stories about Chukotka legends, unique animals, and life in their home region.
The main goal of the project is not only to teach children the basics of animation, but also to inspire them to consider it as a profession, giving them the opportunity to unlock their creative potential. The beauty of this art form is that it is completely individual.

The result of the work will be completed short animated films, whose premiere will take place on the big screen of the Polyarny Cinema as part of the Golden Raven Film Festival.

Oksana Lakhno, Lead Producer of the Golden Raven Arctic International Film Festival, said: "In the festival’s 10th anniversary year, we are especially proud to continue our cooperation with Soyuzmultfilm. For many children, our film lab is the first step into the world of cinema and a real career orientation experience. We are waiting for dreamers, creative minds, and those who want to create magic with their own hands, so that together we can write new names into the history of our festival!"

How to take part? Schoolchildren and teenagers from the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug aged 10 to 17 are invited to apply. Participation in the lab is free of charge, but the number of places is strictly limited. Selection will be made on a competitive basis.
