Five-year-old Sol and her father live in an isolated house by the sea. Sol spends lonely days with her imagination while her father, a composer, struggles with his music. When Sol senses that her father is burdened by sorrow, she finds solace in an old Icelandic folk tale.

Her journey began in the highly esteemed Fine Arts program at The Cooper Union where she studied photography and experimental film. After making her first short film, Ugla went on to study screenwriting and directing in the MFA Film program at Columbia University. Since 2017, Ugla has worked internationally as a film and TV director. Ugla has directed a number of short films and music videos and is currently developing her first feature film. Ugla is a member of The Director's Guild of America.
