The anniversary 10th Golden Raven Arctic International Film Festival will take place from March 30 to April 12, 2026, in Anadyr, the capital of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. The call for entries opens on August 15 and will run through November 30, 2025, inclusive. For the first time, the competition programme will include feature-length animation, and media representatives, film scholars, and film critics attending the festival will present a Press Prize."The tenth festival is a major milestone that we are now approaching. Looking back at our growth, our achievements, our setbacks, and the mistakes that are inevitable over such a long journey, we understand that today Golden Raven has firmly established its place in both the Russian and international media landscape. Today, the festival is one of the largest cultural platforms in the Russian Far East and the Arctic. We are developing a dialogue between Russian cinema and the global artistic context by inviting leading representatives of the professional community from all over the world. At the same time, the focus of our attention, the main source of our motivation, our point of reference and tuning fork, is the audience. Once we set ourselves the goal of reaching a new level — becoming not just a film festival, but a multifaceted cultural event — we were, first and foremost, striving to delight the public; we wanted to offer audiences a wide range of cultural experiences, from creative meetings to concerts by major stars and, of course, world film premieres. And I can say that we have succeeded. The foundation has been built, and we believe that the tenth festival will become the starting point for an entirely new chapter in the history of Golden Raven," commented the festival’s Artistic Director,
Filipp Abryutin, on the start of preparations.
Events of the 10th Golden Raven Arctic International Film Festival will take place in the spring, from March 30 to April 12, 2026. The festival programme will include concerts, stage performances, and creative evenings. As is tradition, a film laboratory and meetings with school students will also be held. "Today, the festival is one of the largest-scale and most sought-after cultural events in Russia. Following the 9th festival, we held 160 events in Anadyr alone. But Golden Raven is also a festival with a powerful ‘echo’: this year, our Film Marathon reached 60 federal subjects of Russia.
More than 68,000 people watched the films. Online, our content generated over 2,000,000 views. There is every reason to believe that the anniversary edition will be no less wide-reaching. We highly value the region’s support and engagement at every stage; Chukotka truly is a unique and welcoming land with tremendous cinematic potential. We see our mission as bringing representatives of the film industry here and, most importantly, fostering a local creative community, nurturing creative people who will be able to tell the whole world about the beauty and richness of their native land through the language of art," added the festival’s Lead Producer, Oksana Lakhno.
At the anniversary festival, audiences can look forward to film premieres from Russia, China, Turkey, and Latin American countries. "For the first time, the competition programme will include a selection of feature-length animated films. For us, this is quite a bold step, but we believe in this genre and are convinced that we will be able to present unique works of screen art in this field in Anadyr. Animation in general is one of the most promising sectors of the film industry, and we hope that by bringing together films from different countries, we will not only surprise audiences, but also stimulate the development of feature-length animation within the Russian professional community, especially in the regions, " commented Programme Director Alexander Solomonov on the innovation. "Also for the first time, media representatives, film scholars, and film critics travelling across the country to attend our festival will be able to present their own award. This festival season, we have established a Press Prize, and we hope that it will become a significant and prestigious trophy of our festival, similar to the FIPRESCI Prize presented at leading international film festivals," he added.
