This short journey uses all forms of transportation which Chukotka offers and which are essential for finding one's way back home. A 4x4, boat, plane, helicopter, snowmobile – and that is far from a complete list of what one might use to reach Kanchalan, a small Chukchi village. The only thing missing is a reindeer sleigh! But the people of this tundra region, reindeer herders, have been fond of that way of getting around, too. Today they have made the leap to snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles.
