Submisson for the VI Arctic International Film Festival "Golden Raven" is now open
From December 23, 2021, submissions are open for the 6th Golden Raven Arctic International Film Festival, which will take place on April 11-24, 2022, in Anadyr, the capital of the Chukotka Autonomous District.

Golden Raven AIFF is among the most significant cultural events in the Russian High North. One of the distinctive features of this film festival is that it puts the audience first: the winner of the Grand Prix is decided by the audience vote. Reputable filmmakers from all over the world annually arrive to the capital of Chukotka to award the jury prizes.

'In October 2021, we held the fifth-anniversary festival, which became a landmark event for filmmakers from all over the world, enhancing cultural cooperation between Russia and the Arctic countries. Our festival was included in the official cultural program of Russia's Chairmanship in the Arctic Council; senior officials and representatives of the Canadian and Swedish diplomatic missions attended the event. Such a short interval between the fifth and the sixth festivals – six months only – comes from our endeavor to return to the 'pre-pandemic' timing because spring in Chukotka is an amazingly beautiful and inspiring time of the year,' said the AIFF Artistic Director Filipp ABRYUTIN.

You can apply to the international competition of full-length films with a feature, or a documentary made no earlier than January 1, 2020, exploring Arctic or northern themes and reflecting the lives of people in the world's northern regions, including indigenous peoples.

Feature and documentary films of any genre made not earlier than January 1, 2020, are eligible for the short film competition.

The FilmRising! regional competition is open to any films from Chukotka Autonomous District made no earlier than January 1, 2020, which had not been selected to this program in previous years.

Films eligible for out-of-competition screenings do not have limitations as for subject and production period.

You can submit an application at the Festival's official website submission_form_2022. The submission deadline is February 28, 2022

The winners shall receive the following awards: Grand Prix for the best film of the full-length feature and documentary competition, Special Prize of the Jury in the full-length feature and documentary competition, Small Golden Raven for the best short feature or documentary film, Special Prize of the FilmRising! regional competition, Special Prize by the Organizing Committee, and Prize for contribution to motion picture art. Every prize of the festival is a unique work of art, created annually by a bone carver from walrus tusk and elk antler.
