From December 23, 2021, submissions are open for the 6
th Golden Raven Arctic International Film Festival, which will take place on April 11-24, 2022, in Anadyr, the capital of the Chukotka Autonomous District.
Golden Raven AIFF is among the most significant cultural events in the Russian High North. One of the distinctive features of this film festival is that it puts the audience first: the winner of the Grand Prix is decided by the audience vote. Reputable filmmakers from all over the world annually arrive to the capital of Chukotka to award the jury prizes.
'In October 2021, we held the fifth-anniversary festival, which became a landmark event for filmmakers from all over the world, enhancing cultural cooperation between Russia and the Arctic countries. Our festival was included in the official cultural program of Russia's Chairmanship in the Arctic Council; senior officials and representatives of the Canadian and Swedish diplomatic missions attended the event. Such a short interval between the fifth and the sixth festivals – six months only – comes from our endeavor to return to the 'pre-pandemic' timing because spring in Chukotka is an amazingly beautiful and inspiring time of the year,' said the AIFF Artistic Director Filipp ABRYUTIN.
